Building political leadership capacity in Stanislaus County
The Stanislaus County Political Leadership Academy is a pilot program created to provide information and tools to regional leaders who are interested in running for office in the future.
The program will cover the mechanics of running for office and provide an opportunity for participants to consider issues impacting our region.
As a nonpartisan program, participants will engage with one another and guest speakers who may have different political ideologies, with the goal of fostering collaboration and strengthening leaders who will improve our community.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The program will cover topics including:
Developing a campaign platform and strategy
Fundraising and endorsements
Persuasive voter communication
Field strategy
Debate and interview preparation
Regional policy issues
The program was developed and will be taught by Megan Belair, a local campaign consultant, who will be joined weekly by guest speakers.
This year's program will be hosted by the Modesto Chamber of Commerce Foundation and sponsored by the Stronger Valley PAC. Classes will take place in-person at the Modesto Chamber of Commerce.
